Tohoku Rakuten (Ni-Gun)'s Hamaya EL Top Pitcher Sunday, September 1st, 2019 Kodai Hamaya took a much-deserved turn in the spotlight earlier today as he accepted the Eastern League Pitcher of the Month award for August. The 23-year-old Golden Eagles starter is a relative newcomer to the league, but nonetheless racked up an impressive 5-0 won-lost record in 3 starts. This month he fanned 20 batters in 20 innings and compiled a 1.80 ERA. This year Hamaya has recorded a 7-2 mark. In 8 starts he has fanned 54 batters in 50.1 innings with a 3.75 ERA. |
