EL's Top Player Named Monday, August 26th, 2019 So far in his young career, Lourdes Gourriel Jr. has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the Eastern League in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts. The 22-year-old Yokohama (Ni-Gun) Bay Stars shortstop hit at a torrid .368 clip as he collected 7 hits in 19 at-bats, 3 home runs, 7 RBIs and 4 runs scored. This season Gourriel Jr. is hitting .372 with 17 home runs. |
