6-Hit Barrage by Uchida Tuesday, July 16th, 2019 Players get multihit games all the time. But a 6-hit game comes around only once in a blue moon. It happened at Giants Baseball Stadium when Yasuhito Uchida of Tohoku Rakuten (Ni-Gun) scattered 6 hits all over the ballpark against the Yomiuri (Ni-Gun) Giants. He walloped 6 hits in 6 at-bats in his career-day performance to help the Golden Eagles get by the Giants 23-1. In a talkative and jovial mood after the game, the third baseman of the Golden Eagles said, "Whoa, my swing was really, really there today. I made some good, sweet-spot contact and when that happens... good things happen... like 6-for-6. I could get used to a lot of days like this one." Yasuhito Uchida hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, walked in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. To date this season Uchida is hitting .296 with 13 home runs. |
