Red-Hot May Lands Alonso Batting Prize in WL Saturday, June 1st, 2019 When Lazaro Alonso stepped up to the plate in May, he did it with confidence and today he was honored with the Western League Batter of the Month award. The young Hanshin (Ni-Gun) first baseman posted a .333 batting average with 7 home runs, 30 RBIs and scored 16 runs. Alonso also worked pitchers for 8 walks to post a .389 on-base percentage. This year Alonso is batting .321 with 10 home runs. |
