Schrock Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Orix
Saturday, September 21st, 2019
Lions third baseman Max Schrock went 0-for-4 today in Saitama Seibu's 2-1 triumph over the Orix Buffaloes, snapping his 25-game hitting streak.
Schrock spoke to BNN after the game and said, "I knew the hitting streak would end sooner or later. I just would have preferred later."
When he made an out in his last chance at bat, his teammates congratulated him in the dugout.
The Buffaloes manager shrugged off the streak. "There's nothing scientific about it, that's for sure," he said. "He had a nice little run. Let him start another one when we finish the series here."
Schrock is hitting .326 this season with 16 home runs, 64 RBIs and 64 runs scored. He has 157 hits in 481 at-bats.
