Nishimura Named Top Reliever for JCL

Kentaro Nishimura has won the 2020 Central League Reliever of the Year, which at age 35 is a "milestone achievement" for the Yomiuri Giants reliever.
"I feel accomplished to win this when there are other younger, stronger, harder-throwing guys out there," he said.
The Fuchu, Japan native's numbers speak for themselves, as he captured the award with 36 saves in 70 relief appearances, compiling 77 innings. He had 65 strikeouts and 12 walks, a record of 7-2 and an ERA of 1.64.
Kyohei Nakamura of the Tokyo Yakult Swallows finished second in voting, while Travis Mikihisa Samura of the Hanshin Tigers finished third.
