Plummer on Fire, 5-for-5 Against Stallings
Sunday, July 4th, 2021
Even as a kid, Nick Plummer said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Hillbillies Ballpark today, Plummer showed how well he learned that lesson.
The 24-year-old right fielder had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Chandler Rogues, helping his team knock off the Stallings Hillbillies by a score of 7-0.
"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today."
Nick Plummer hit a two-run home run off Dylan Lester in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
This year Plummer has hit at a .326 clip with 31 RBIs, 9 home runs and 26 runs scored.
