Hit Streak Over, Diamonds Stop Vargas
Tuesday, June 6th, 2017
The Corsucant Padawans won the game 7-3 over the Charleston Diamonds. At the same time the Diamonds mound corps did what no other team could do. They stopped the 22-game hitting streak of Padawans first baseman Kennys Vargas. But that was still not enough to win the game.
"Our pitchers might have focused a bit too much on stopping Vargas," the Charleston manager commented afterward. "He had a nice hitting streak going, but the Padawans have other hitters, and they did their job today."
Vargas is presently hitting at a .265 pace with 8 home runs, 33 RBIs and has scored 33 times.
