Beekeepers Wieters Suffers Injury Thursday, July 20th, 2017 It took the Appomattox team doctor a while to realize it, but catcher Matt Wieters won't simply play through a broken kneecap after he got hurt running the bases in today's Centaurs-Beekeepers game. At first, it looked like Wieters might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 7 months. Presently Wieters is batting .246 with 11 home runs and 44 RBIs. He has played in 65 games and scored 29 times. |
