Charlotte's Stanton Out 3 Weeks
Wednesday, September 18th, 2019
The Charlotte Royals were dealt a severe blow when Giancarlo Stanton was hurt making a defensive play recently in a game against the Canadien Donkey Riders. After the game, the team trainer reported Stanton might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 29-year-old right fielder out for the rest of the season with a finger sprain. They indicated it would take Stanton at least 3 weeks to heal.
This year Stanton has hit at a .256 clip with 148 hits, 35 home runs, 98 RBIs and 77 runs scored.
