Lynchburg starter Brandon Waddell pitched effectively against the Columbus Legion at Hornets Nest. The left-hander led his team to a 9-2 win. The Hornets bumped their record to 63-61 with this latest triumph.

Dan McGill, the first overall pick in the 2019 draft, aided the Lynchburg cause with a 2-run triple in the bottom of the first. For the game, the center fielder was 1-5 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Waddell.
