Boomers Solve Donkey Riders, 5-4

The rain came, as predicted, but the New Vegas Boomers and Canadien Donkey Riders were able to complete their ballgame.
The New Vegas Boomers racked up a win at Moles Stadium, bumping off the Canadien Donkey Riders, 5-4. Shelby Miller, who started for New Vegas, pitched effectively for his team. Miller went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 8-11. Josh Edgin, credited with the save, is now 4 for 9 in save opportunities.
The Boomers got a big at-bat from left fielder Jeff Lynch. For the game, Lynch was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 20th home run of the season gave New Vegas a 3-2 lead.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Canadien manager John Creekpaum. "The effort was great."
New Vegas bumps their record to 61-62 with the win.
