The rain could not keep the Moonbase Alpha crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.
The Pawtucket Red Sox got a superb performance from pitcher Danny Duffy, but the Space City Moon Men still won the game, 3-2. Duffy was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. Losses have been few and far between for the Red Sox, who are now 9-2.
Had Mike Trout not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Trout hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Moon Men.
Trout called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
