Fighting Penguins Lose to Bull Artists, 7-4
|
Durham Bull Artists starter Alex Reyes pitched a strong game against the Neptune Fighting Penguins at The Igloo, leading the Bull Artists to a 7-4 win. The winning pitcher was Reyes, now 9-6. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6. Joe Ortiz was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 4 of 4 save opportunities.
The Bull Artists got a big at-bat from third baseman Rosell Herrera. For the game, Herrera went 1-5. In the top of the seventh, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 112nd hit of the season gave Durham a 5-4 lead.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Herrera told a Durham Observer reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
Neptune has now lost 4 consecutive games.
