Boomers Sneak Past Hornets, 5-4
The New Vegas Boomers and Lynchburg Hornets obliged those fans who came to Moles Stadium looking for a good time.

The New Vegas Boomers trumped the Lynchburg Hornets, 5-4, at Moles Stadium. New Vegas designated hitter Matt Kemp was named player of the game for his performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. New Vegas reliever Josh Edgin was credited with the win, to go to 6-0. John Simms took the loss for Lynchburg. Zack Burdi got the save, his 5th in 6 chances.

Eugenio Suarez aided the New Vegas cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the shortstop went 1-1 with a walk.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Suarez.

The Boomers move to 57-58 with the win, while the Hornets drop to 60-55.
