|
Berkeley right-hander Yordano Ventura made an effective start against the Spellborough Wizards at Dodger Stadium, leading his team to a 3-2 win. Ventura picked up the win for Berkeley, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 7-6. The Batterologists move to 52-63 with the win, while the Wizards drop to 49-66.
Greg Deichmann, who is tied for 4th in the EL in triples with 7, aided the Berkeley cause with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the third baseman was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Ventura.
