Behind a solid performance from third baseman Manny Machado, the Atlantic City Illuminati defeated the Deathland Weresloths, 7-3. Machado was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Illuminati. Nick Kingham picked up the win, improving his season record to 10-9. He struck out 5 in 6.1 innings. The Illuminati bumped their record to 62-52 with this latest triumph.
The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth when Machado, who is on pace for 111 RBI this season, hit a 2-run home run. It propelled the Illuminati into the lead, 4-2.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Machado said after the game.
