Weresloths Prevail, 3-2, Over Berkeley
|
The first-place Deathland Weresloths welcomed Berkeley to Turner Field.
The Deathland Weresloths picked up a win at Turner Field, knocking off the Berkeley Batterologists, 3-2. On the mound for Deathland was right-hander Matt Wisler, who played a pivotal role in the win. Wisler, now 6-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 2 earned runs.
Alex Jackson had a big run-scoring double for the Weresloths in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Deathland trailing 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Nate Karns and stroked the double to left-center. It was his 23rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Weresloths ahead, 2-1.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Deathland manager Mark Caterinacci. "Our pregame was pretty good."
Deathland leads the Ellering League Droz Division by 12 games.
