Weresloths Come Back Late to Clip Boomers

The Deathland Weresloths downed the New Vegas Boomers, 8-5, at Moles Stadium. Alex Jackson led the way, going 3-for-5 for Deathland. Deathland reliever Garrett Cleavinger picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Mayky Perez was saddled with the loss. It was the 7th win in 11 games this year for the defending champion Weresloths, who are picking up where they left off.
The Weresloths got a big at-bat from third baseman Drew Mendoza. For the game, Mendoza went 1-4. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the eighth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 9th hit of the season gave Deathland a 7-5 lead.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Deathland manager Mark Caterinacci.
