Pawtucket left-hander Grayson Garvin made an effective start against the Deathland Weresloths at McCoy Stadium, leading his team to a 5-2 win. Garvin picked up the win for Pawtucket, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 8-5. The Red Sox bumped their record to 58-50 with this latest triumph.
The Red Sox got a big at-bat from center fielder Jorge Soler. For the game, Soler went 1 for 3. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 19th hit of the season gave Pawtucket a 1-0 lead.
"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Garvin. "Successful pitchers do it."
