Legion Bang Out 7-2 Win Versus Neptune
|
The Columbus Legion bested the Neptune Fighting Penguins by a score of 7-2, with catcher Michael Hickman getting the main credit. On the day, Hickman went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Legion. Cody Ponce, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held Neptune to 1 earned run on 6 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. Columbus, now 49-58, holds third place in the Ellering League Droz Division.
Christin Stewart aided the Columbus cause with a run-scoring triple in the bottom of the first. For the game, the left fielder went 2-4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
