Fighting Penguins Lose to Bull Artists, 6-2
|
The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements at Durham Bulls Athletic Park enjoyed themselves.
Durham pitcher Toby Kelly did his part in helping his team beat the Neptune Fighting Penguins, 6-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Kelly, now 1-1, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 2 earned runs.
The Bull Artists had to work out of trouble in the top of the sixth. The score was 3-1, Durham, with no one out. Neptune, with a runner on 1st, was mounting a threat. Trent Clark dug in at the plate, but on a 1-2 forkball, he struck out.
Durham has now won 4 in a row.
