Riding the 3-hit performance of the former first round draft pick Gregory Polanco, the Pittsburgh Alleghenys stopped the Charlotte Royals, 6-2. Pittsburgh reliever Steven Okert got the win, raising his record to 5-3. Masahiro Tanaka was tagged with the loss. Pittsburgh is now 92-69, 4 games up in the Ellering League Heidenreich Division.
Polanco had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 3rd in the top of the fourth inning, when he hit a 2-run double. The Alleghenys went on to win.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Polanco said.
