Puig Helps Muckdogs Run Win Streak to 3
|
With left fielder Yasiel Puig leading the charge, the Batavia Muckdogs defeated the Berkeley Batterologists, 7-6, at Dodger Stadium. Puig, who is a two-time All-Star, was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Cody Allen was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 26 of 30 save opportunities. Batavia has now won 3 in a row.
Puig had a big at-bat with a runner on 2nd in the top of the sixth inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Muckdogs went on to win.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Berkeley manager Randy Morgenstein. "But we decided not to take it."
