Fans who gathered at PNC Park saw a good contest between the Berkeley Batterologists and Pittsburgh Alleghenys.

Berkeley rode a fine outing from starter Lewis Thorpe to victory over the Pittsburgh Alleghenys at PNC Park. The final score was 3-2. Berkeley is now riding a 3-game win streak.

Berkeley needed the clutch hitting of Byron Buxton to notch the win. The center fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Batterologists on top, 3-2. For the game, Buxton had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Buxton told the Berkeley Times.
