Sandberg Helps Boomers Run Win Streak to 3
|
In a tight contest at McCoy Stadium, the New Vegas Boomers edged the Pawtucket Red Sox by the score of 5-4. New Vegas right fielder Cord Sandberg, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. The Red Sox, now 82-68, have lost 5 in a row.
Sandberg had a big at-bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the seventh inning, when he hit a 2-run single. The Boomers went on to win.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Sandberg. "And not try to do too much."
