Victory Pushes Moon Men Record to 5-5
The Space City Moon Men defeated the Charlotte Royals, 9-3, at Moonbase Alpha. Space City third baseman Joey Gallo was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Shota Suzuki, the winner, improved to 1-1. He held Charlotte to 3 earned runs on 6 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. The Royals fall to 4-5 and continue their uneasy start to the 2023 season.

Gallo contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Space City in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 3-0, Gallo took a fastball from Mike Foltynewicz and stroked the home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Moon Men to leap in front, 4-3.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Gallo.
