Torrens goes 3-for-4 in Donkey Riders Win
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Luis Torrens, the Canadien Donkey Riders defeated the Pittsburgh Alleghenys, 6-3. Torrens went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Donkey Riders. Alex Wood got the win, improving to 9-9. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Aroldis Chapman notched his 32nd save in 38 chances.
Torrens had a big at-bat with the bases empty in the bottom of the fifth inning, when he hit a solo home run. The Donkey Riders went on to win.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Torrens told the Canadien Chronicle.
The Donkey Riders raised their record to 69-77.
