Muckdogs Walk Off with 5-4 Win

C.J. Cron was instrumental in his team's 5-4 triumph over the Columbus Legion. The first baseman went 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times for the Batavia Muckdogs. Batavia reliever Cody Allen picked up the win, upping his record to 2-5. Tristan Beck absorbed the loss. The Muckdogs saw their win-loss record go to 40-54. At the same time, the Legion fell to 40-54.
Starlin Castro was the walk-off hero for Batavia. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Muckdogs second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Castro, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
