Hornets Need Extra Frames to Get Past Muckdogs
|
The Lynchburg Hornets scored a 5-4 win versus the Batavia Muckdogs at Hornets Nest. Lynchburg pitcher Zach Petrick nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. The Hornets, at 50-41, sit in second place in the Ellering League Animal Division.
Late-game drama came in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no one out and a runner on 1st, the batter, Carlton Fisk, hit a single. It helped Lynchburg seize the win.
"This place sure got loud," said Greg Stern, the Lynchburg manager.
