Hornets Walk Off with Win

Lynchburg Hornets starter Sandy Koufax was in fine form against the Batavia Muckdogs at Hornets Nest, leading his team to a 4-3 win. Lynchburg reliever Dan Stevens was credited with the win, to go to 3-5. Kyle Crockett took the loss for Batavia. The Hornets bumped their record to 49-40 with this latest triumph.
Dan McGill was the walk-off hero for Lynchburg. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Hornets center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Batavia manager Mike Moran said following the tough loss.
