Polanco Impresses in Pittsburgh Loss
Pittsburgh left fielder Gregory Polanco had a good game, even if his team did not. The Alleghenys dropped a 6-4 decision to Lynchburg at Hornets Nest. Polanco was 2-2 with 2 home runs and 3 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Dan Stevens earned the save for Lynchburg, his 4th. Lynchburg, now 6-4, has gotten their season off to a good start.

The Hornets got a big at-bat from third baseman Jeimer Candelario. For the game, Candelario went 1-1 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the eighth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Lynchburg a 6-4 lead.

"It was a solid team effort," said Candelario after the game.
