Royals Turn Back Deathland, 5-3
|
Charlotte beat Deathland on the strength of starter Tyler Glasnow's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 5-3 win. Glasnow got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 5.1 innings. Glasnow allowed 2 earned runs. Carlos Martinez, credited with the save, is now 3 for 3 in save opportunities.
The Royals got a big at-bat from third baseman Grant Bodison. For the game, Bodison went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 15th home run of the season gave Charlotte a 2-1 lead.
