Batterologists Lose to Red Sox, 5-3
|
The Pawtucket Red Sox defeated the Berkeley Batterologists, 5-3, at McCoy Stadium today. Leading the charge for Pawtucket was left fielder Danry Vasquez. He was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Ken Giles notched his 20th save in 24 chances. The Red Sox bumped their record to 48-33 with this latest triumph.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 3rd and two out in the bottom of the sixth inning. That's when first baseman Hank Greenberg, who is rated as the 32nd best prospect by BNN, drew a walk. The Red Sox went on to win.
"There's a lot of passion in our clubhouse," said Greenberg. "When we put it together we're a great ball club."
