The Philadelphia Black Cats eked out a 7-6 win versus the Neptune Fighting Penguins at Black Cats Ballpark. Nobody did more than center fielder José Rivera, who captured player of the game honors. The Fighting Penguins, at 39-42, have lost 4 straight games.

Rivera had a game-changing single in the bottom of the ninth. On a 1-2 changeup from Xiao-xuan Liang, he banged a 2-run single to right, giving the Black Cats a 7-6 lead. It was the 56th hit of the year for Rivera.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Rivera, "but we got it done."
