Batterologists Bang Out 6-3 Win Versus Charlotte
The Berkeley Batterologists picked up a win at Dodger Stadium, knocking off the Charlotte Royals, 6-3. Starting pitcher Lewis Thorpe, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Thorpe got the win, improving to 4-3. He allowed 7 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. Thorpe allowed 3 earned runs. Dan Reynolds was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 7 of 8 save opportunities.

The Batterologists got a big at-bat from left fielder Babe Ruth. For the game, Ruth went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 7th double of the season gave Berkeley a 5-3 lead.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Thorpe.

The win boosts the Batterologists to 45-34. The loss puts the Royals at 42-36.
