Black Cats Topple Hornets with Late Rally
The Philadelphia Black Cats beat the Lynchburg Hornets, 5-3, at Hornets Nest. The win was largely due to the efforts of third baseman Trey Cabbage, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The winner was Scott Blewett, who threw 101 pitches over 8 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 5 hits. Aroldis Chapman was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 25 of 26 save opportunities.

Cabbage had a game-changing double in the top of the eighth. On a 1-1 fastball from Zach Petrick, he banged a run-scoring double to right, giving the Black Cats a 4-3 lead. It was the 27th double of the year for Cabbage.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Cabbage said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

The Black Cats bumped their record to 41-40 with this latest triumph.
