Batterologists Hope Win Turns Around Slow Start
|
Berkeley Batterologists starter Nate Karns was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the New Vegas Boomers, 5-2. The winning pitcher was Karns, now 1-1. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 4. Berkeley, now 2-5, is off to a slow start.
A.J. Reed, who is a two-time All-Star, aided the Berkeley cause with a 2-run single in the top of the ninth. For the game, the first baseman went 1-4, while adding 2 RBI.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Berkeley manager Randy Morgenstein. "Our pregame was pretty good."
