Almost There: Deathland On Cusp of WS Triumph After 2-1 Win
The Deathland Weresloths moved to within one game of the Round 3 today, downing the Charlotte Royals on the road at Chase Field by a score of 2-1. Weresloths right-hander Sonny Gray was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Weresloths a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 World Series.

In his 102-pitch effort, Gray allowed 1 earned run on 4 hits over 8.1 innings. He walked 1 and struck out 2.

"We're one game closer to our goal," Deathland manager Mark Caterinacci said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow. Slated to start are Matt Wisler for Deathland and Mike Foltynewicz for Charlotte.
