Weresloths Win to Extend Series Lead to 2-0
The Deathland Weresloths got a strong performance from pitcher Damien Magnifico, who stymied the visiting Charlotte Royals en route to a 10-2 win in Game 2 of the World Series today. The Royals could never get a bead on the right-handed Magnifico, who threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball to earn player of the game honors. The Weresloths now hold a 2-0 in the best-of-7 series.

Rafael Devers, who is rated as the 96th best prospect by BNN, chipped in for Deathland with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.

"There was a kid in the stands with a sign that said 'Deathland Weresloths (probably) 2022 World Series Champions'," Magnifico told reporters after the game. "I told him, 'Premature, but I like the confidence.'"

The next game is set to be played Friday. Slated to start are Sonny Gray for the Deathland Weresloths and Jeurys Familia for the the Charlotte Royals.
