World Series Game 1 Victory for Wisler\n and Deathland
The stakes were high. Matt Wisler was ready.

The right-hander turned in a performance for the ages at Turner Field today, pitching a 9-inning, complete-game shutout to lead the Deathland Weresloths to victory in Game 1 of the World Series. Wisler held the Charlotte Royals to no hits and no walks, while striking out 7. The win got the best-of-7 series off to a good start for Deathland, which now leads 1-0.

Wisler, who was born in Bryan, Ohio, threw 110 pitches over 9 innings, while allowing no earned runs.

"Every team in baseball loses," Royals manager said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."

Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow in Tehran. The scheduled starters for the game are Masahiro Tanaka for Charlotte and Damien Magnifico for Deathland.
