Deathland Takes Divisional Round
|
The Deathland Weresloths took time to celebrate with the Deathland fans who stuck around after the game, following the team's Divisional Round triumph over the Pittsburgh Alleghenys.
Members of the Weresloths hung around chatting, high-fiving and taking pictures with the Deathland fans in attendance at PNC Park, long after the last pitch had been thrown in their 3-2 win to seal the series 4-2.
"We've got great fan support," said second baseman Corey Seager. "Whether we're at home or on the road, the fans support us. So we wanted to show them how important that is to us. Some Pittsburgh fans that were there even congratulated us on the win."
For the series, Seager hit .333 with a .333 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, 7 RBI and scored 5 runs.
Things weren't so cordial on the Alleghenys side of things. Their clubhouse was closed to media after the game and all players and coaches quickly dressed and left the stadium after the end to their season.
The Deathland Weresloths don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Charlotte Royals - Neptune Fighting Penguins series. Charlotte leads the series 3 games to 2. The World Series schedule will be announced after the Divisional Round finishes.
