Home Loss Shrinks Weresloths' Series Lead to 3-2
|
The Pittsburgh Alleghenys have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Deathland Weresloths, winning 6-4 at Turner Field today. Alleghenys right-hander Jackson Kowar was named player of the game after he threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Alleghenys to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Divisional Round.
This game was not decided until late. With one out in the top of the ninth, Tetsuto Yamada hit a sacrifice fly. The Alleghenys took the lead, 5-4.
"We're one game closer to our goal," Pittsburgh manager Patrick Healy said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."
Game 6 is scheduled for Saturday, October 8th, 2022. Slated to start are Chris Sale for the Deathland Weresloths and Jerad Eickhoff for the the Pittsburgh Alleghenys.
