|
Neptune withstood an impressive performance by New Vegas first baseman Jose Osuna to defeat the Boomers, 9-5, at Moles Stadium. Osuna was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Neptune goes to 84-59. The win puts them 6 games up in their division.
The Fighting Penguins got a big at-bat from first baseman Jose Abreu. For the game, Abreu went 2-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 104th hit of the season gave Neptune a 5-3 lead.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Abreu told the Neptune Today.
