McGill Stars for Hornets in 11-6 Win
|
The Lynchburg Hornets downed the Berkeley Batterologists, 11-6, at Dodger Stadium. The Hornets were led by Dan McGill, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-3 with a home run, a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. The Hornets bumped their record to 75-68 with this latest triumph.
Dalton Kelly, who is tied for 4th in the EL in bases on balls with 79, aided the Lynchburg cause with a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth. For the game, the left fielder went 1 for 5 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Kelly told the Lynchburg Daily News.
