Muckdogs Win 4-3 Walk-Off
|
The Batavia Muckdogs beat the Pittsburgh Alleghenys, 4-3 at Wrigley Field, in part due to right fielder Alex Abbott, who nabbed player of the game honors. He went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI. Cody Allen got credit for the win, improving to 3-2. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. The Muckdogs bumped their record to 31-29 with this latest triumph.
Abbott had a game-changing double in the bottom of the tenth. On a 2-2 fastball from C.J. Edwards, he banged a 2-run double to right-center, giving the Muckdogs a 4-3 lead. It was the 7th double of the year for Abbott.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Abbott.
