Alleghenys Lose to Muckdogs, 6-4
|
Miguel Andujar made an impact in the 6-4 Batavia win over Pittsburgh. Andujar, who is a two-time All-Star, was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The win was Jose Urena's in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Aaron Slegers took the loss for Pittsburgh. Cody Allen converted his 11th save in 12 tries.
Andujar contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Batavia in the bottom of the sixth. With his team trailing 4-1, Andujar took a changeup from Aaron Slegers and stroked the home run to left-center. His 14th home run of the season allowed the Muckdogs to leap in front, 5-4.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Andujar told the Batavia Times.
The Muckdogs bumped their record to 30-29 with this latest triumph.
