Boomers Squelch Muckdogs Offense in Shutout Win
|
The New Vegas Boomers went home winners at Wrigley Field, thanks in large part to starter Raisel Iglesias. Iglesias silenced the Batavia Muckdogs, enabling New Vegas to grab the 5-0 win. Iglesias went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 1 hit, walked 6, and struck out 4. His record improves to 5-4. The Boomers bumped their record to 34-24 with this latest triumph.
Jeff Lynch, who is tied for 10th in the EL in doubles with 16, aided the New Vegas cause with a 2-run home run in the top of the third. For the game, the left fielder was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Iglesias said.
