Batavia rode a fine outing from starter Trevor Hillhouse to victory over the New Vegas Boomers at Wrigley Field. The final score was 4-2. Hillhouse went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 5-2. The Muckdogs bumped their record to 29-28 with this latest triumph.

The Muckdogs got a big at-bat from catcher Yan Gomes. For the game, Gomes went 1-3. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 14th hit of the season gave Batavia a 4-2 lead.

New Vegas manager said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
