Red Sox Drop Donkey Riders with Late Score
|
Pawtucket left fielder Danry Vasquez was instrumental in his team's 5-4 win over the Canadien Donkey Riders. Vasquez, who is a three-time All-Star, went 2-4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Red Sox. Grayson Garvin picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 5-4. Pawtucket leads the Ellering League Hawk Division by 2½ games.
Had Grant Burton not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 1st, Burton hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Red Sox.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Burton told the Pawtucket Bulletin.
